The hospital was named in memory to Carrie Alice and George Woods, Sr., at the
request of their son, George Woods, Jr., a former Tennessee Speaker of the House
from Etowah who was instrumental in establishing the hospital.
McMinn Memorial Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center offers long term care in
addition to skilled care for patients on a short-term basis. Patients who have
suffered a stroke, been involved in an accident and others who need rehab including
physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy are treated for specific
time frames from 30 days or longer.|
